This really is just a test to see whether blogging vie email on the fly (and
therefore from pretty much any device with network access (be it immediate or
not…) actually works.

Not bad, although the lack of HTML support is a shame (or maybe it isn’t given
the HTML some mail clients produce) but I suppose it could be remedied.  I do
like the idea of being able to go out with a camera and laptop and publish as
soon as I have something that warrants it.

Of course techideas is hardly News24. there is no real need to get things out
at any kind of speed, indeed the world probably wouldn’t care very much if it
didn’t exists, yet somehow the ability to capture something, write about it
and publish it in a matter of minutes is appealing.

Whilst I am on th subject, I should add that a few people have suggested
micro-blogging to me, be it via twitter, SMS or any of the other services that
will allow small messages to be sent, picked up and published.  Personally I
am not sure, 140-220 characters seems a little pointless for a blog entry, and
it would seem that this is what twitter is for, not what blogs are good at.
There does seem to be a funny urge to make everything fit into everything
else, but for the moment at least, I will abstain (although I do publish my
tweets in the sidebar.

Well, thanks for reading, I hope that this actually makes it onto the site,
(if not no-one will ever know…) but as I hit send, I will take my firs step
on the road to mobile blogging, at some point I’m sure I will be able to work
out if it is just an ego trip or is actually worth it.
